New Teacher Blog Tuesday & Free Products

Our first new teacher blogger is Ashley from

1.                  Name of blog and link:

2.                 Tell us about your blog and why you started it.
My blog is geared towards teachers of grades K-3. I love to share resources and ideas with other teachers. Throughout college, I learned so much from the teachers I was under as well as their teams. The school I teach at now is very small (only 1-2 classes per grade level), so I hope to collaborate with as many teachers as I can through blogging!

3.                  Tell us a little about your teaching background.
I graduated about a year ago with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Because I graduated in the middle of the school year, I substitute taught for a while. I now teach Kindergarten in Tennessee and LOVE it.

4.                  What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Any Taylor Swift songs. Some people may not want to admit that they love her, but I have no shame!

5.                 What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
The hardest thing I’ve ever done was move away from my family. I moved about five years ago for college, but I still miss them every day. I am fortunate to only live four hours away from them, yet I wish I was close enough to stop buy more often.

6.                 What’s your favorite TV show?
I love lots of different TV shows. My favorites have to be So You Think You Can Dance, Dexter, and The X Factor.

7.                  Are you a Times New Roman or DJ Inkers kind of girl/guy and why?
Definitely DJ Inkers. I can be kind of font (and clip art) obsessed. I find a font and use it for everything until I come across another font I love.

8.                 Number of candles that appeared on your last birthday cake?
23

9.                 What was the last book you read?
The last teaching-related book I read was The Daily Five. (I am now using a modified version of The Daily Five in my classroom and LOVE it!) The last book I read for fun was Catching Fire.

10.            What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
I hate doing the dishes, but who doesn’t?

2.           Tell us about your blog and why you started it.
I started my blog because there are not a lot of blogs out there for special needs teachers and I was having a hard time finding enough ideas, and I could always change everything done on all the wonderful kinder and 1st grade blogs. So my blog is for people who maybe need ideas to work with special education students in the general ed classroom as well as just helping and teaching students with all kinds of sever and multiple disabilities.

3.            Tell us a little about your teaching background.
This is only my second year teaching. I taught my first year in Waco Texas in a elementary Life Skills class and this year I am in Austin Texas teaching in my dream job an Autism unit. I am finishing my Masters this May from Texas Tech University were I got my bachelors. I hope to one day get my doctor and be a professor in the area of special education.

4.            What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Anything country or pop!! I like it all really!

5.           What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
Hardest thing I have ever done is probably saying bye to loved ones in my family when I wasn’t ready to at all.

6.           What’s your favorite TV show?
I have to many to only name one! The Bachelor and Bachelorette, CSI, Law and Order, Suits, Burn Notice, Boardwalk Empire, White Collar, CSI Miami.

7.           Are you a Times New Roman or DJ Inkers kind of girl/guy and why?
I hate Times New Roman because it’s just so plain and boring to me and reminds me of all the school work (papers) in college haha I like DJ inkers better for sure!

8.           Number of candles that appeared on your last birthday cake?
