1. Name of blog and link:
What’s Working This Year in Kindergarten?

2. Tell us about your blog and why you started it.
I started my blog after reading and following so many other teachers’ blogs. I was truly inspired by everyone’s blog and I loved getting ideas from other teachers. So , I decided that I should share my ideas with the world as well as document my second year as an inclusive classroom teacher.

3. Tell us a little about your teaching background.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I had many teachers in elementary school that were amazing and I always wanted to be like them one day. I began teaching preschool in a daycare setting in 2002 while I was working on getting my BS as well as my teaching license. From there, I secured a job at an elementary school in January of 2010 as a Literacy Coach for Pre-K and K students. The next year I was offered a Kindergarten position and that is where I have been ever since! I enjoy Kindergarten, but my heart seems to be in first grade. I did my student teaching in a first grade classroom and I loved every minute of it!

4. What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra (My wedding song)
Daughters – John Mayer
Have You Ever Seen the Rain? – CCR
She Will Be Loved – Maroon 5

5. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
This is tough. Physically? Gave birth to my daughter. Mentally/Emotionally? Haven been thrown into being an inclusion teacher last year. I am a fairly new teacher (this is only my 3rd year!) and to have been thrown into that role last year was completely overwhelming. I am happy to report that as tough as it was, it was a huge learning experience, and I am so happy to have had that opportunity!

6. What’s your favorite TV show?
Hands down, Big Bang Theory!

7. Are you a Times New Roman or DJ Inkers kind of girl/guy and why?
I am a DaFont kind of girl. Times New Roman is too boring for me!

8. Number of candles that appeared on your last birthday cake?
29! This year will be the big 3-0! I am so excited to be celebrating our friends’ wedding on my 30th birthday this year!

9. What was the last book you read?
Ship for Brains by Brian David Bruns. I love to cruise and I love learning about the industry, so this was a fun and fast read.

10. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning the bathroom! I dread that chore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
